DR. TRACY BRANDMEYER

Dr. Tracy Brandmeyer is an American Neuroscientist and Chief Science Officer at BrainMind where she coordinates and oversees scientific operations and research ventures of the organization. Her scientific career has focused on the development of innovative scientific methods to study and promote human flourishing. Over the last two decades her research has explored the neural and physiological mechanisms underlying attention and emotion regulation, and the development of novel neurophenomenological methods for studying meditation, closed-loop BCI systems, and altered states of consciousness. She is also a research scientist at the Institute for Advanced Consciousness Studies, serves as a scientific advisor to Lionheart Ventures, and advises several early stage startups in the neuro and biotechnology sector.

Tracy completed her postdoctoral training in Integrative Neuroscience at UCSF, a PhD in Neuroscience at the CNRS in France, and a MSc in Neuropsychology at the Donders Institute, in the Netherlands. Throughout her doctoral studies she conducted her field research and trained in monastic lineages in the northern Indian Himalaya, where she led an international collaboration studying the electrophysiological correlates of mental states arising from a variety of contemplative traditions. She was awarded a three-year NIH research grant at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine to pursue the translational features of her research for clinical, neurotechnological, and biomedical applications and interventions. She joined the BrainMind team as CSO in Spring of 2021.
